I know everyone will want to know what happened to cause this tragedy. These are the details as I understand them, and they may not be completely accurate, but rather than have us all trying to get information from the family at this difficult time, I will post what I have heard from Jamie Goetz and news reports for the time being: Tom, Kris, and the boys were driving in Carroll, New Hampshire on Sunday afternoon when a car coming in the other direction crossed the line and hit them head on. Apparently the driver was a hiker who had fallen asleep at the wheel. Another car was also involved. Tom was killed in the accident, Kris suffered a broken pelvis, Ben sustained minor injuries, and Jamie broke his arm and had a concussion. All three are now out of the hospital and recovering in New Hampshire with the support of their wonderful families. Kris, Jamie, and Ben will be heading to Idaho soon to stay with her parents, Wilma and Larry, for a while and have some time to mend.
