I met Tom last year when I joined the GI faculty at the DC VA Hospital. I have two special memories of him that I will cherish. Last year my son had a very scary seizure. Tom found out about it, called me at home, and passed along the names of two pediatric neurologists. He barely knew me but reached out to help. The final memory is of an email he sent me the week before he died. He told me how happy he was at Dartmouth. His smile and hearty laugh came through the email. I am comforted by knowing that he was really happy, doing what he loved professionally, being with his family. God bless Kris and the boys. Tom will be sorely missed.
